Terms & Conditions

Exhibition Dates: 25 September – 13 October 2026
Venue: Hazelhurst Arts Centre – Broadhurst Gallery
Entries Open: 6 July
Entries Close: 11 September
Exhibition Opening: 27 September 2-4pm


1. Eligibility

The Friends on Show Exhibition is open exclusively to current financial members of the Friends of Hazelhurst.

2. Accepted Mediums

Artists may submit original works in the following mediums:

  • Painting
  • Drawing
  • Printmaking
  • Digital print
  • Photography
  • Mixed media
  • Sculpture
  • Ceramics
  • Mosaic

Please note: Jewellery and greeting cards are not eligible for entry.

The exhibition theme is open.


3. Artwork Specifications

All artworks must be presented to exhibition standard.

Labelling Requirements

Each artwork must be clearly labelled with:

  • Artist name
  • Artwork title
  • Medium
  • Sale price (inclusive of 30% commission)

2D Works

  • Must be mounted, framed, and ready to hang
  • Stretched canvas works may be submitted unframed
  • Wet paintings will not be accepted

3D Works

  • Must be stable and suitable for display.

4. Size Restrictions

2D Works

Maximum size: 100cm x 100cm, including framing.

If submitting:

  • a triptych, or
  • a grouped ceramic/sculptural collection,

please indicate this clearly on the entry form.

Grouped works intended to be displayed together must still fit within the maximum dimensions.

3D Works

All 3D artworks must fit within a 50cm x 50cm x 50cm display space or plinth allocation.

Please note that only one display option can be provided per artist.


5. How to Enter

Artists are encouraged to complete the online application form via:

A non-refundable entry fee of $40 per artist applies.

Paper application forms will also be available from the reception desk at Hazelhurst Arts Centre approximately one month prior to the exhibition opening.

Entry Conditions

  • A maximum of two artworks per artist may be submitted
  • Submitted works must be:
    • The artist’s original work, and
    • Completed within the last two years
  • Artists may provide digital images of their artworks
  • Late entries will not be accepted

6. Selection Process

All submitted artworks must be delivered to Hazelhurst for the selection process.

An appointed selector will review all entries as they arrive and determine which artworks will be included in the exhibition. The selector’s decision is final, and no correspondence or appeals will be entered into by Friends of Hazelhurst.

Exhibition Inclusion

  • Only selected artworks will be exhibited
  • If the number of accepted works exceeds available gallery space, a maximum of one artwork per artist may be displayed
  • Every effort will be made to ensure broad artist representation across the exhibition

Collection of Unselected Works

Unselected artworks must be collected by the artist, or their representative, by 4:00pm on the day of selection.

If another person is delivering or collecting artwork on behalf of the artist, written permission or prior notification to the Friends on Show Co-ordinator is required.


7. Sale of Artwork

A commission of 30% applies to all artworks sold during the exhibition. Artists must include this commission within the listed sale price.

Collection of Unsold Works

Unsold artworks must be collected by the artist or their nominated representative at the conclusion of the exhibition. Art works cannot be stored at Hazelhurst Art Centre. If you require assistance, please contact the FOS Co-ordinator info@friendsofhazelhurst.org

Artists whose works are sold will be contacted directly by the Friends on Show Co-ordinator.


8. Reproduction of Images

Artist’s consent to their artworks and/or photographs of themselves being used for promotional and publicity purposes relating to Friends on Show.
Appropriate acknowledgement will be given wherever possible by Friends of Hazelhurst.


9. Insurance and Liability

Artists are responsible for arranging their own insurance coverage for artworks against loss, theft, or damage.

While all reasonable care will be taken in handling and displaying artworks, neither Friends of Hazelhurst nor Hazelhurst Arts Centre accepts responsibility for any loss, damage, or theft.
