What’s On

Hazelhurst to Re-open on 22nd June 2020

A message from the Hazelhurst Team:

Following the easing of restrictions in NSW we are excited to welcome you back to Hazelhurst Arts Centre from Monday 22 June!

We know Hazelhurst is an important and valued part of our community and we look forward to welcoming you back to a refreshed and safe facility. Until then we are completing valuable maintenance and improvement works and developing new ways for you to enjoy Hazelhurst.

As we re-open on Monday 22 June, the health and well-being of the community and our staff remains our top priority and we’ve been carefully planning the measures we need to implement, in line with government restrictions and health guidelines.

One measure we all are aware of is the need for social distancing which means we need to limit the numbers in the gallery, our studios and cafe. Initially we will open the galleries, the gardens and the cafe and you will be able to book your visit to Hazelhurst online to help ensure you can visit when you choose.

At a later date we will introduce a new range of art classes, which meet government restrictions and health guidelines. These classes will need to be a lot smaller so our regular Term Art Class Program and School Holiday Program will be temporarily suspended until further notice.

Please keep checking our social media pages for further updates as they become available.

See you soon!
The Hazelhurst Team

The Watercourse Artists group is a member of Friends of Hazelhurst. The group was instigated by Gai Grayson and Alison Duff in 2004 to showcase the work that was being created by watercolour students of Jan Kellaway at Hazelhurst Arts Centre.

Over the past 14 years many of the original artists have gone on to pursue other interests and new members have been invited to join the group which has added a vitality and diversity.

The 14 plus artists are busily preparing for their 14th exhibition to be held in the Palm House at the Royal Botanic Gardens, Sydney. They are looking forward to displaying, and selling their art works, in watercolour, acrylics, and mixed media, covering a vast range of styles and artistic endeavours.

Watercourse artists for 2017 are: Pauline Blaik, Janet Brennan, Kathy Curtiss, Alison Duff, Kate Evans, Lee Flanagan, Barbara Gray, Gai Grayson, Chris Griffiths, Vicki Hazzard, Keith Lamport, Anne Leuzinger, Cheryl McDonnell, Raquel Tapia and Glenys Thompson.
